Imunify360 license tiers and pricing, explained for hosts

How Imunify360 licensing works — the four per-server tiers, how accounts are counted, when bulk pricing kicks in, and why the same license costs a fraction through a reseller.

Imunify360 is priced per server and tiered by how many hosting accounts that server runs. There are only four tiers and every tier ships identical features — the price buys you a higher account ceiling, not a bigger feature set. That makes the sizing decision simple once you know how CloudLinux counts "users" and where the bulk discount starts.

This explains the tier structure, the account-counting rules that trip people up at renewal, and the gap between CloudLinux's direct list price and what the same license costs through a reseller. If you are choosing between ImunifyAV, ImunifyAV+, and the full suite, read the feature-by-feature breakdown first — this article is about paying for Imunify360 once you have decided you want it.

The four license tiers

TierAccount ceilingWho it fits
Single user1 accountOne-site VPS, a managed WordPress box, a staging server
Up to 30≤ 30 accountsSmall reseller plans, a lightly loaded node
Up to 250≤ 250 accountsA typical shared-hosting server
Unlimited250+ accountsDense shared nodes, packed resellers

Features do not change between tiers. Proactive Defense, the WAF, the cloud-assisted firewall, malware scanning with one-click cleanup, reputation feeds, and 24/7 vendor support are in every plan, including Single user. You are paying purely for headroom on the account count.

How accounts are counted

The license checks the number of hosting accounts on the box, not the number of domains or websites. On each platform:

  • cPanel/WHM — active cPanel accounts. Parked and addon domains under one account do not add to the count; DNS-only nodes are a special case (see below).
  • Plesk — customer and reseller subscriptions.
  • DirectAdmin — admin, reseller, and user accounts.
  • Standalone (no panel) — Linux users with UID ≥ 1000 on modern distros (UID ≥ 500 on the old CentOS 6 rule). System users are excluded on every platform.

DNS-only cPanel nodes carry no hosting accounts, so a Single user license is enough to keep Imunify360 present on them if you want the WAF and firewall on your DNS layer.

Bulk pricing starts at five servers

CloudLinux applies volume pricing automatically once you license five or more servers. The bulk rate is a large per-server discount versus the standard rate — often less than half — and it applies across all four tiers. There is no separate contract or minimum term to sign; the discount attaches to the account once you cross the threshold. If you run a fleet, this is the single biggest lever on your monthly bill, so consolidate purchasing rather than buying servers one at a time from different places.

Direct list price vs reseller price

Buying Imunify360 straight from CloudLinux costs several times more than buying the identical license through a partner. The license, the update feed, and vendor support are the same regardless of where the credential comes from — resellers buy in volume at the bulk rate and pass most of the margin through, which is why a reseller's Unlimited tier lands well under CloudLinux's direct Unlimited rate.

Indicative reseller monthly pricing (check our pricing page for the live figure, as CloudLinux adjusts rates periodically):

TierTypical reseller price/mo
Single user~$12
Up to 30~$25
Up to 250~$35
Unlimited~$45

The equivalent direct-from-vendor list rates run materially higher at every tier. For a multi-server host the difference compounds fast — see the worked examples below. You can activate a license here at the reseller rate.

Worked examples

One managed VPS, 8 accounts. The "Up to 30" tier covers it with room to grow. At roughly $25/mo that is about $300/year for full WAF, Proactive Defense, and malware remediation on a single box.

A shared node with 180 cPanel accounts. You need "Up to 250" — 180 is comfortably inside it, and you have headroom for ~70 more signups before an upgrade. One server, so no bulk discount yet.

A fleet of eight shared nodes, ~200 accounts each. Every node needs "Up to 250," and at eight servers you clear the five-server threshold, so bulk pricing applies to all of them. At an indicative bulk rate the per-server cost drops well below the single-server "Up to 250" figure, and the fleet total is far lower than eight standalone licenses would be. This is the case where buying through one reseller account matters most.

What you are actually paying for

ImunifyAV is the free scanner — detection only, no cleanup, no WAF. ImunifyAV+ adds one-click malware cleanup on top of that free scanner and is licensed separately. Imunify360 is the full suite: everything in ImunifyAV+ plus the WAF, Proactive Defense (the PHP-level runtime shield), the cloud-assisted firewall, and reputation management. Because ImunifyAV+ cleanup is folded into Imunify360, there is no reason to stack the two — an Imunify360 license already includes the remediation you would otherwise buy ImunifyAV+ for. If you are weighing the standalone options, the tier comparison lays out what each one detects and blocks.

Next steps

How much does an Imunify360 license cost per server?+
It depends on the account tier. Through a reseller, expect roughly $12/mo for a single-user server, ~$25 for up to 30 accounts, ~$35 for up to 250, and ~$45 for unlimited. Direct-from-CloudLinux list pricing is several times higher at every tier.
Is Imunify360 licensed per server or per account?+
Per server. Each server needs its own license, and the tier you buy is set by how many hosting accounts that server runs — single user, up to 30, up to 250, or unlimited.
What counts as a user for Imunify360 licensing?+
The number of hosting accounts on the server, excluding system users — cPanel accounts, Plesk subscriptions, or DirectAdmin accounts. Domains and subdomains under one account do not add to the count.
When do I get bulk pricing on Imunify360?+
Volume pricing applies automatically once you license five or more servers. The discount attaches to the account across all tiers, with no separate contract.
Do I need ImunifyAV+ if I already have Imunify360?+
No. ImunifyAV+'s one-click malware cleanup is already included in Imunify360, along with the WAF and Proactive Defense. Buying both is redundant.
Does a DNS-only cPanel server need a full license?+
No. DNS-only nodes carry no hosting accounts, so a single-user license is enough if you want Imunify360's firewall and WAF on the DNS layer.
